Akshay Kumar is set to work with Drake and also Ludacris. The actor and musician are joining forces on a music video for Akki’s upcoming flick, Breakaway, and the Grammy award winning rapper is currently in Canada to work with Akshay on the project. “It’s going to be very exciting to collaborate with Ludacris. It’s great to work with such big artists from across the globe,” Akshay told the Times of India.
Directed by Robert Lieberman, Breakaway is an English-Punjabi comedy that tells the story of South Asian immigrants and how they adapt to a new life in a new country.
According to the buzz, Toronto based actor Vinay Virmani and 10000 BC actress Camilla Belle have allegedly signed on for the lead roles, while Akshay has roped in Canadian comedian Russell Peters, as well as Hollywood hunk Rob Lowe, most known nowadays for his role on the hit TV series Brothers & Sisters. Cast and crew have started shooting in Toronto and the movie will hopefully hit theaters sometime next year.
And Ludacris, who most recently was featured on Justin Bieber’s smash hit single ‘Baby,’ is not the only international singer who has been roped in for the production! Anupam Kher took to Twitter the other day to talk about his on-set encounter with Drake! “Filming with Drake, the biggest name in Hip Hop. Breakaway rocks,” he tweeted.
Set to be released 15 September 2011 in Canda.

Drakes debut album Thank Me Later bowed with an astounding 447,000 copies at No.1 in its first week. It’s the third-best sales week of the year for a single album. The top two sales weeks of 2010 are owned by Sade‘s “Soldier of Love” (502,000 off its debut week in February) and Lady Antebellum‘s “Need You Now” (481,000 in its first frame in January). And since both Lady Antebellum and Sade are technically groups, “Thank Me Later’s” start is also the biggest debut week for a solo act’s album since Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed a Dream” entered at No. 1 with 701,000 upon its release last November.
Some, expeceted him to do a million just like Wayne, who himself suggested Drake would do double that in his first week. But the economic climate has changed drastically and its harder for a hip-hop artist, or any artist at that to sell an album.
Now who else wanna fuck with Hollywood Cole?

Best piece of music news to me since Jay Sean signed to Cash Money
Drizzy told MTV’s Sucker Free: “I went up to Rikers, and me and Wayne agreed that there will be a Lil Wayne / Drake album. There’s some things I’m excited for in my life, I’m excited to go perform certain places, but this project will probably be one of the most exciting things in my life, because we make music on a different level. It’s just so fun, so comfortable. A whole album?
“To think about all the things we can do, especially if we’re gonna do 15 songs. Me and him don’t like to do 12, 13 songs. We want to do 15, 16. Yeah, Lil Wayne and Drake album.”

Both Drake and Chris Brown refer to their relationships to Rihanna in their respective songs…shes a lucky girl?
Rumours circulated that Drake and Rihanna were a couple last year when they spent time at New York bowling alley Lucky Strike Lanes & Lounge, where they were allegedly spotted kissing throughout the evening. Recentyly, he has been rumoured to be speaking about Rihanna in his song ‘Fireworks’ featuring Alicia Keys, The 23-year-old raps:
“I’m just such a gentleman… I can tell it wasn’t loveI just thought you f**k with me/Who could have predicted, lucky strike, would have you stuck with me?/I kept my wits about me luckily/What happened between us that night, it always seems to trouble me/Now all of a sudden these gossip brags wanna cover me, and you making it seem that it happened that way because of me.”
Drake recently told Billboard that he had written about a past fling on ‘Fireworks’, saying: “In the second verse, I address the relationship that I’m often questioned about and I duck and dodge questions about it.” Which more or less confirms it.
The song ‘Deuces’ by Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne’s protégé Tyga and Kevin McCall, has just hit the Internet and is rumoured to be about Rihanna aswell. The second song hails from a collaborative mixtape titled “Fan of a Fan,” which was released online last week as a thank you to their respective fan bases. Chris sings:
“All that bullshit is for the birds
You aint nothin but a vulture
Always hopin for the worst
Waiting for me to fuck up up
You’ll regret the day when I find another girl, yeah
Who knows just what I need, she knows just what I mean
When I tell her keep it drama free”
Nice Chris very nice ¬.¬ But the song is really good and the video is uber cool. Colin Tilley is an amazing director!

A bit of vintage Neptunes for you. Timberlake sings well, Game’s verses are ok but nothing outshines the beat. Set to be the first official single off The R.E.D Album.

The lyrical genius that is Lupe comes back with his third album Lasers with the video of the lead singe ’I'm Beamin’ produced by the Major, Grammy winning duo of Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo Aka The Neptunes. The video is quite creative and makes good use of a lot of cut outs, simple animation and some cool light effects. Its directed by Shomi Patwary who worked with him previously and also with the likes of Kanye West and Clipse.
